Videos purport to show U.S. Capitol Police allowing protesters to breach security barricades unchecked

WASHINGTON, DC – New videos today are purporting to show U.S. Capitol Police around the U.S. Capitol removing barricades and inviting pro-Trump protesters inside the building.   The authenticity of those videos has not yet been confirmed.  Protesters stormed the Capitol, causing damage.  One woman was shot and killed and three died from medical issues, police say. One D.C. police officer was killed after being struck by a fire extinguisher.

In one of the videos, a police officer is actively inviting protesters beyond the barriers.  Another video shows U.S. Capitol Police removing barricades and escorting the protesters beyond them.
